On May 8, the National Tourism Standardization Technical Committee issued an announcement, stating that the Aizhai-Shibadong-Dehang Grand Canyon Scenic Area in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture has been approved as one of the second batch of national civilized tourism demonstration units. This is another national honor after the National Patriotism Education Demonstration Base and the National 5A Scenic Area.
Aizhai-Shibadong-Dehang Grand Canyon Scenic Area is located in the core area of Xiangxi UNESCO Global Geopark. It is composed of the Aizhai Bridge, Shibadong Village where targeted poverty alleviation was first proposed, and Dehang Grand Canyon known as the “Hometown of Drums & Natural Oxygen Bar”. It integrates modern road and bridge technology, extraordinary landscapes, ethnic culture, and the story of the Tujia and Miao people.
In recent years, the scenic area has attached great importance to the construction of civilization and carried out various promotional activities for civilized tourism.
Pay close attention to civilized publicity. The scenic area has broadcast the promotional video of civilized tourism and the slogans of civilized construction on the LED screen.
It has set up large-scale landscape sketches, civilized tourism signs, and public service announcement boards at the entrance of each scenic spot and the tourist distribution plazas, as well as along the tour routes, so as to promote the civilized tourism concept in an all-round, multi angle, and three-dimensional manner.
Improve the quality of services. Since the scenic area was awarded the national patriotism education demonstration base and the national 5A scenic area, it has developed various tourism forms such as Red tour, study tour, and experience tour based on actual conditions, making initial achievements.
It has also regularly conducted training on safety management, emergency rescue knowledge, and service procedures in tourist attractions to effectively improve tourism service and management. During major holidays such as the Spring Festival, International Labour Day, and National Day, Party members and volunteers in the scenic area actively participate in reception work to provide high-quality services for tourists.
Provide reassuring travel experiences for tourists. With shuttle buses and electric vehicles as well as ecological parking lots, electric automobile charging stations, cliff plank roads, and other projects put into use, the transportation network of the scenic area has been greatly improved, providing a safe and comfortable travel experience for more and more tourists.
Strengthen industrial development. Relying on unique landscapes and ethnic culture, the surrounding Miao villages have been encouraged to develop rural tourism, characteristic planting and breeding, Miao embroidery, labor economy and other industries, and open more than 300 agritainments and characteristic homestay inns, helping nearly 30,000 people increase their income.
